Would this be ok?

I'm home for fall break and was going to go ask one of my old high school teachers for her advice/help with a class I'm in this semester, but the thing is that I emailed her about it a couple of weeks ago and she never replied. I'm pretty sure that she would be happy to talk to me and give her opinion but I don't want to seem annoying since I'm not her student anymore, especially since she probably already read my e-mail.

I have to go to the school to pick something up anyway, do you think she would mind helping a former student?

Pop in, but ask if she has time to give you a few minutes. She should be able to tell you if she does not have time.

How long ago did you have her as a teacher? Perhaps she didn’t recognize your name, and that’s why she didn’t reply. Many people remember faces better than names. Or perhaps she meant to reply and forgot - don’t assume the worst.

Just pop in and say hello like MD Mom said and see how she responds to your visit. If she seems annoyed or doesn’t seem to recognize you, then maybe just leave it at “How have you been? Just stopping by to say hello.” If she recognizes you and seems glad to see you, ask if she has a few minutes to give some advice.
