Would this hurt or help?

When applying to colleges (especially highly selective ones), does it matter what you scored on your AP exams? I'm not talking about placement or course credit, I am concerned with admission. Does it influence your acceptance in any way? Thanks!!

You don’t need to send in the AP scores for school applications, but you may self-report the scores. Most schools do not use it for evaluation at all. Some may use it as subject tests. Many students took the AP classes but do no take the AP exam. So if your score is bad, just don’t self report it. You only need to send the scores after matriculated and after finishing AP test in senior year.
