I’m a rising senior, and I am spending a month of my summer break in China.I thought I’d do something productive, so I applied for an internship in Shanghai. I passed the interview and will be working 5 days a week 9-6 for about a month in the marketing department of an art school in Shanghai. I am working independently as well as collaboratively (occasionally) with one or two other people in the office, and will be mostly working with document translation and researching information.Does this sound like a credible internship to add to my college application?
Internships matter more to prospective employers than to prospective colleges.
If its something you are interested in, do it. Don’t do everything on the basis of whether or not it will get you into college.
Colleges will like to see that you are doing something productive with your summer. This is productive.
It is definitely creditable and should be included.
