Would this make a difference in my application?

I'm currently a rising junior, and I'm definitely planning on applying to Columbia next year. Both my parents went to graduate school at Columbia, and my dad was an adjunct professor there for three years a few years ago.

My question is, would this make any difference in my application? I know I wouldn't technically be considered a legacy, but do admissions officers take into account parental graduate schools, or would I be in a separate pool for children of faculty? Sorry if this came off as sounding arrogant or egotistical btw, I'm trying to be as honest and frank as I can.

I don’t believe you will receive any special consideration. Double check by going to the actual Columbia website for official information.

Legacies do help. Prob not as much as if they did undergrad there, but it still will
