Hey all. I just started junior year of high school, but like many juniors I am already thinking about senior year. Anyways I was wondering if the following schedule for my senior year would be a good challenge or just overkill?:

Multivariable calculus + linear algebra
AP stats
AP literature
AP bio
AP chem
AP Spanish 5
Quest (gifted program)

And I am planning on doing US government over the summer before senior year.

Does anyone have experience doing AP biology and AP chemistry the same year? How tough is it? Is this schedule "too much"? Thanks!

It’s not bad. They’re difficult in different ways.

That is one serious schedule, LOL. I don’t know what type of student you are - but assuming that you have an incredibly good work ethic and determination, I suppose it is very feasible. But still man, two sciences and two/three maths? So srs. I applaud you.

ugh, yes i took ap bio and ap chem last year (junior year). it drained me of my interest in science, and i had the two classes back to back. i would have ap chem lab one day, and then the next, i would have ap bio lab. i was waist deep in lab reports and notes and ugh

ap bio is more difficult, in my opinion, because i had to read the chapters like three times and outline. i hate doing that stuff.

i’m in apes now, and it’s so easy. if you want to take two sciences, i would go that route. i wish i would have saved one of the classes for this year. but since you’re already a junior, that’s probably not possible.

It really depends on your free time, both during the day and after school. If you’re a varsity athlete and you’re going to be spending a ton of time at sports practice throughout or even part of the year, it is going to be really, really difficult. If you don’t have a single free throughout the day, it’s going to be hard to get everything done! I don’t think the classes will be the problem, but the amount of work is going to be a major issue-- a TON of reading, multiple labs, spanish dictations/reports, and a ridiculous amount of math problems. If you miss one day, you will be covered in work up to your ears. I think it’s definitely possible, but you might have to spend literally all of your free time studying/working/in the library…

I multivariable & linear algebra at your school, or at a college? Yeah that’s a really hard schedule. 5 APs isn’t bad, but I feel like those two may push you over the top.
