<p>Just wondering in advance since what I take in 10th will affect what I can take in 11th.
So this is the schedule I'm looking at for 11th grade:
HL English year 1
AP Calculus BC
HL History of the Americas year 1
HL Biology year 2(First year was pre-ap bio, taking in tenth grade)
SL Spanish year 1
AP Art History****
So the AP Art History is a VAPA requirement for the UCs. But really, I'd prefer to take human anatomy and physiology. I'm definitely not wanting to be a doctor, but this class just seems for fun and interesting. But if I take it, I'll have to take all classes like this as a SENIOR, and I definitely don't want to do that. I'd like to relax a little as a senior. The only other option is summer school(other than actual art classes...but yeah...I'd rather not). So, advice?</p>
<p>2 AP classes are a joke. You should be fine! If you’re applying to UCs, your senior grades will not matter and rigor of course won’t matter too much.</p>

@Bouncer, HL Classes are relatively similar to AP and more. Theoretically, he is taking 4 AP classes.</p>

<p>@Bouncer Yeah HL classes are part of the IB program and they are about as hard as AP. Some are harder. SL is easier than AP.
@apandia You don’t think it’ll be too much work, though? How much homework would you estimate?</p>
<p>What exams come with the IB program that give college credit hours?</p>
<p>@DHCP6768UDP I believe HL exams are recognized by colleges as being equivalent to AP and are therefore given the same college credit. I know this is true at the UCs, don’t know about other colleges.</p>
<p>@dsi411 - Are you planning to complete the IB Diploma? I’m a freshman as well but my brother and a few of my friends describe to me the type of workload they have. I think you’ll be fine, about 1-4 hours of HW per night as the work can pile up due to procrastination and fluctuate as well. It looks like an above average IB schedule!</p>
<p>@apandia Yes, that’s what I’m planning to do. But I usually to my homework for 3 hours including dinner now, so that doesn’t seem TOO bad. Thanks, I guess I’ll do this schedule!</p>
