I know that those grades in 11th and 12th grade would be extremely difficult on top of Varsity Athletics year-round as well as NHD, Volunteering, Amnesty International, MUN, Model Congress, Science Olympiad, but I think I've really began to hit my stride after a brutal first 5 marking periods (full freshman year and 1'st marking period of sophomore year). Would this save a transcript or will 9th and 10th grade marks doom an applicant?

3 Bs a year will not doom you. You probably won’t get into Harvard that way, but you hardly need to go to Harvard for a good college education.

Junior and senior year get significantly harder. You may have hit your stride, but you simply will not get a 4.0 GPA from now until you graduate. Expecting that is only going to make you sad when it doesn’t happen.

I’m not sure, Biology is my favorite subject and in Honors I had missed by only .15 of a percent! I understand that it is much harder, but overall I’ve really improved my academics to a really good extent. For example, I had a D (gasp!) in Algebra first marking period, but 2nd marking period i finished with a 99! Even in classes such as LA II Honors where only 2 people have A’s in my entire school in that class, I have an 89. I’m not doing this to brag, but I know that I can finish very strong. Also, I have a nagging question about B’s. How bad do they really look on a college application? I’m looking at schools such as Stanford, UPenn, Brandeis, Rice (my fav ones right now) and I’m often worried about the impact of B’s on a transcript, and many answers are very vague. THANKS!
