I'm a junior and i'm still at the point where i'm discovering schools that are new to me. With Tufts, I kind of have a 'that's a cool school for smart kids, right?" but i'm ashamed to say that I don't know more than that. My guidance counselor alerted me because of my strong interest in international relations. If you all think that it might be a match for me I'm pretty sure that my parents would take me on a visit to Boston to try it out...even though they know i'm not Harvard material, they would be happy to know that Harvard is nearby. Kidding. sort of.

Allright the stats:

4.0 gpa unweighted
3rd(ish) in my class of 300 - large public urban school in the south
3 APs in 10th grade, 4 this year, probably 4 next year.
2120 SAT (only taken once)
ACT - taking in January

My big interest is international and local food issues. I've been working with family farms since i was 12 in paid positions in markets around our city. I'm taking a formal internship in January with my state's organic food NGO, have helped organize and run crop-mobs in my town and write a food column for the student newspaper. i spent last summer at Georgetown's international relations program and just found out that I've been selected as a State Department intern in (would prefer not to name country) Africa for the summer of 2014 and will be working on that continent's food issues. I also just learned that i've been named to our state's "Governor's Honor' program for the summer...i'm going to have to turn it down because of the Africa thing but it's still a moderately big deal here.

Whaddya think?
