Would UCF be a good fit for a person like me?

Obviously, I know you have to physically go to a school to get an idea of whether it would work for you or not. But, for anyone who might have insight, how accomodating is UCF for students with physical disabilities? I have Cerebral Palsy, and walk with the assistance of crutches. I’m very independent. I’ve been considering transferring there from my small private school in New York (I have Florida pre-paid), but am worried I may be overwhelmed by both the size of the campus and the size of classes. If you have any advice or suggestions, please let me know!

I’m not going to be a huge help compared to someone who currently goes there, I’m just a parent who visited recently. (maybe someone else could speak to the accommodations issue) I noticed the the campus seems quite flat, there weren’t hills or stairs to deal with, for the most part. The campus is decently big, but not as huge as I was expecting as far as walking around.

And, of course, you NEVER have to worry about ice and snow!

@Trisherella Thank you for that insight! I did visit the campus a few years ago and I thought the loop structure was very convenient. I agree, it did seem surprisingly compact. I just worry about the distance to and from class because I get fatigued after awhile.

Another thing I noticed Jennajay, is that they have on-campus shuttles that drive around the campus. So, depending on where you needed to be there are plenty of students who utilize the shuttle, which is actually a full-sized bus, and they have a couple different ones running regular routes. That might help for any really long distances.

Thank you! Anyone else have any information?
