Would UK schools have been right for me?

Looking back even though I have applied to entirely US schools but I am wondering would schools in the UK would I have been right for me?

Here is my record I have a 2.2-2.6? left over from a rather poor preformence throughout Freshman year but I've preformed decent in my studies since, in addition I will have three AP classes under my belt. In terms of EC'S I will have to put on my application the Cambridge College Programme, in which I did exceedingly well as I made all A's in my classes as well as getting the de facto recommendations of two Cambridge Professors who are fairly high profile in the sense of them being accomplished academics as well as to having wrote some books as well, also in terms of EC I will have debate to put on there in addition to Cambridge. I have also particapated in a political internship here in the states. As well as serving on my school's homecoming Court, along with alot more. Also I have written and have had published some History articles on community based history websites. Lastly I also preform well in interviews and have excellent subject test scores, my essays are excellent also.

So would I have stood any chance at any leading schools in the UK? Not Oxbridge but St, Andrews, LSE, or any of the others?

If I’m not mistaken, the majority of UK schools only really care about your GPA/test scores. They don’t even ask to see your ECs. And because your GPA is kind of low, UK schools probably would not have been your best fit. You have really impressive ECs and US schools care about your life outside the classroom. I think you made the right choice.

Anyways, don’t regret anything or look back at what could have been. I’m sure you’ll do fine wherever you end up : )

Actually the UK colleges (especially Oxbridge) only care about six things:

1) SAT Scores
2) AP Scores
3) # of AP tests
4) SAT II Scores
5) Personal Knowledge of Desired Major (interview)
6) Any INCREDIBLE accomplishments you have had

your GPA matters very little to them as it is to arbritrary in their opinion…

Well if that was the case then everything except SAT scores would have to be considered very good to excellent.
