Would visiting improve my chances?

I haven't seen Cornell yet, but I intend to, I've fallen in love with it for reasons other than the atmosphere and prettiness, but those are definitely plusses. I like the atmosphere of the students, and I actually like the fact that it's big, I know what it's like to go to a small school. As for the girls, I know what it's like to be in a "bad" ratio environment, but ratios aren't everything, and I know that much.

As far as the comparison to Northwestern is concerned, as I said I have not visited Cornell, but Northwestern isn't that great, yes it's nice, but it's nothing special. From what I have heard Cornell is really gorgeous, but I'll make that decision when I go to visit.

All in all, I definitely think that visiting makes a impact on your ultimate decision to attend the school.

bullseye: i can back up the part where the students at Cornell are nice. that is definitely true.

as for the gorgeous part ... i think i mentioned this before somewhere, but there was dead grass everywhere and limping trees in august. the only gorgeous part of campus i saw was just a patch of "sprinkled grass" somewhere near north campus and the lakes and gorges are really nice.

i'm going up there and hopefully (if someone can back me up) the grass is green again from rain and maybe there is foilage right now?

Actually, it may look worse...a lot of areas are being dug up and reseeded I think...

hahaha, then i will take that into account when i go there.

Yeah I hear a lot of construction is going on here and there, something about building new dorms...

mmmm. thank god I went warm clothing shopping over the weekend!

Hey, how do I get into the MVP (multicultural visitation program)? Is it a one-time thing and it's over? I think I should stay there overnight with their red carpet night thing but those things aren't really structured so that you can get the full feel of the campus.

we had a bad summer here, seemed like it never rained, killed alot of the grass.

also, i have some webshots of the campus i took back in the spring. The leaves were just starting to appear at the time. It's really not what i'd call a thorough campus picture tour, just a few shots of some nice stuff. No gorges, either. I'll have to wait til my girlfriend gets her broken camera back then i can take pictures of whatever people want. enjoy!
