Would you add any schools to this list to visit?

Have you considered University of Kentucky? It’s not super competitive to be admitted, but offers a lot including BIG school spirit and their football team ended in top 10 ranking this year Even on years when football hasn’t been as strong, they fill the stands and your S will enjoy watching them play other big time SEC schools (of course, in Kentucky basketball reigns supreme)

We are in Philly suburbs and my S14 attended UK … made great friends, was challenged and remains in Lexington.

@houndmom good suggestion! D21 has a friend who’s a freshman an U of KY and loves it! They have the merit outlined on their web page too so you could get an idea of where that starts.

My #3 is a high school senior, both she and ds20 performed better on the ACT than the SAT (dd22 was my first and for some reason just took the SAT). Dd scored 1470 on the SAT (and it took the 3rd time taking it to get that score) and 34 on the ACT. She will probably end up at UDel due to cost and program (DPT).

I don’t know why you would include Purdue but skip Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan or Minnesota as good U’s. Purdue is not an awesome place compared to some others.

That gpa needs to be converted to an unweighted one.

Purdue was added only because of their exceptional CS/CE program. No disrespect to any of the other neighbors, had to cutoff list somehow.

Second Ohio State. Tied with Penn State in Computer Science undergrad rankings at #30. Can’t beat the football. Offers various CS degrees including Data Analyfics. Great merit for OOS but work on raising SAT/ACT.
