Would you choose to attend a women's college? Why or why not?

No. There are just not for me. I tried to choose schools that were diverse in every way. I also wanted medium-sized schools, and none of the women’s colleges were large enough.

This is a good point. However, I also think that girls in general deal with any problems differently than guys do - by talking behind each other’s back, for example, without saying outright that there is a problem. I am friends with many girls - in fact, my two best friends are girls - I just think that for me personally, a women’s school would not be the best place.

‘Catty’ is such a touchy word. Of course people who like the ‘feel’ of women’s colleges will assert that the women who attend aren’t catty at all; of course people who have spent time in all-female environments and dislike the ‘feel’ will assert that they react against the cattiness.

For the record, my personal aversion to women’s colleges has nothing to do with cattiness or drama. But I also disagree with an assertion such as, “most girlish misbehavior […] occurs in a context of trying to please or compete for the attention of males.” People who are catty and melodramatic are unlikely to change their behavior if you remove sexual attraction from the equation; there are plenty of other motivations for such behavior.
