Berkeley for the same reasons that you chose L.A., except I live in the Bay Area of course. Think I’ll go to Davis over UCLA if UCB doesn’t accept me.

Good question. Recently, I’ve been chilling with some friends at Berkeley and it’s really changed my entire outlook on things. Before, I always thought of Berkeley as a “shatty place with a bunch of hobos” despite growing up in the East Bay. But now, I’ve gotten used to it and find it to be sort of like Cal’s character which is a plus.

I would say that i am a 60/40 lean in favor of UCLA which is huge because I used to be a 90/10 lean. But we’ll see… I still need to get in to them, right? lol

chibi, I feel the same way you do. I used to be 90/10 UCLA to Cal, but I’m finding myself drawn to Cal. If I had to make the choice tomorrow, I’d pick Cal at this moment.

I chose Berkeley over UCLA last year because of better housing, better course offerings IMO, and a higher ranking that I just couldn’t pass up after evaluating my own past, etc. Berkeley is more veteran friendly, and even though I’m conservative, I liked the atmosphere better. UCLA has a nicer campus, but it was too “frat-boyish” and sterile to me.

Oh yeah, I’m also married. If some of you guys are single and meeting women is a big factor for you, give UCLA a lot of points there over Berkeley.

I’m from SoCal, even though I haven’t lived here all my life…I think I just want to get away. LOL.

[:

Okay…I think it’s because of the environment (you KNOW what I’m talking about if you’re in SoCal)…and in NorCal…it’s just different. Hard to believe we’re the same state, haa. Everything is also accessible, with the BART and or Bus. Plus I’m a sucker for all those freaking shops in SF!!!
