tupac--Isn't it possible to wear that shirt as a way of making fun of people who think like that, instead of wearing it because you think like that yourself?

It would go way over the heads of typical, blue collar Americans. They would just think you're a prick and want to kill you.

hehehe, yeah, it would go way over most people's heads. But, whatever :)

I would wear it only on the night I throw a party to celebrate my acceptance letter.

No. It's not very funny or clever.

Good humor...but I would never wear it in public lol

We could come up with better. And it's cheaper to get a plain shirt and a Sharpie :)

Around my town, that shirt wouldnt evoke any emotions because we're an ivy feeder.

Not even remotely funny...if you want to go there because of the name, look at a different college.

Go to a different college for the name? Harvard is THE place to go for the name!

About the shirt.... yeah.... not funny

There were similar shirts that said something about my home city:

"ATL... taking over the world one corporation at a time."

Basically, a bunch of companies relocated here because it was cheaper and more economical to run a business here.

"pic of skyline in background Brainwashing the world through CNN since 1980."

And some others. I bought a few.

Speaking of sharpies... have any of you seen that pic on myspace that says "Keep Sharpies away from Mexicans"? It cracked me up.

I'm probably going to get into some kind of trouble for that, haha.

that's hilarious

The first one's hilarious. The second one is just random

HAHAHA... that sharpie thing cracked me up.. though it's not just mexicans who do that~

and yeah... i wouldn't wear that shirt in public either... maybe just at home or something.. it's amusing xP

I think it's arrogant to wear a regular Harvard t-shirt (or any top tier school for that matter) around in public let alone this one...

The rule of thumb is that no Harvard logo clothing may be worn outside of Cambridge, except in the privacy of your own home, as long as no company is expected over. It invariably excites jealousy and resentment - whether ot not a negative remark is actually directed at you. Not worth the risk.

Those who are not themselves Harvard students, including perhaps younger brothers or sisters, and certainly visiting tourists, may purchase and wear the caps, t-shirts or sweatshirts. Harvard students themselves would be better off displaying the colors of the home state flagship or a national athletic power.

can i say f word here?????

as a new yorker I usually look with a mixture of admiration and pity at anyone wearing yankee paraphernalia upon their unbaseballlike bodies. It is usually more difficult to detect whether or not someone deserves to associate their flesh with Harvard,...

"Yeah, I def wouldn't wear it in public. This braggin attitude of some US students who define themselves by the school they got accepted to makes me upset anyway. You will never see anyone in Paris run around with a shirt saying: " I go to Sorbonne/Sciences Po, I'm cool you suck." This goes for any school in the UK or Germany, as well."

Erm... What are you talking about? In England you see tonnes of people with Oxford / Cambridge sweatshirts and there is an elitist attitude around those two schools that you won't find anywhere in America. Oxbridge is basically the prestige of the 15 or so Ivys and Ivy-level schools all concentrated in 2 schools.

And as for France, they do not have any schools in the same league as top American (or English) schools.

As much as I don't like it, the truth is that snotty elitist attitude occurs at some level at top schools anywhere (Although I really don't think its that bad)

Jeezus, I hate it when people identify random negative characteristics as American because they see Americans negatively.

Actually the only people you will see wearing Oxford or Cambridge sweatshirts have no connection with the universities and bought the gear in a tourist shop. No undergraduate or graduate would wear something with an Oxford/Cambridge logo, they would wear something from their college, which would be very unlikely to be recognised by the great majority of the population.
