Would you like to help :-)

Hey everyone! As I'm trying to apply for 2007 fall entry, and have to do this in between spending heaps of time on my final year exams in Australia, I don't have lots of time to research colleges. Could you guys possibly help me compile a basic list to explore in more depth?

I'm basically looking at the top liberal arts colleges, or unis of the same calibre as berkeley or stanford.

I need a place with needs-blind policy towards international students, and preferably a place that admits a relatively high percentage of internationals

I would like to major in humanities (English) or possibly something to do with politics or international studies

I think I'm the more reserved, philosophical type - so I don't want a place with really wild party scenes etc

I'm not sporty at all - i do ballet and that's pretty much my form of exercise

My extracurricular interests are debating (including MUNA type things) and the arts

I guess location is kind of important - not completely in the middle of nowhere

(and if possible - lol not really important, but anyway - a nice pretty campus? Williams seems awesome! I love natural surroundings!)

Any help would be really appreciated!! Thanks

I think that people will be willing to help you if you're willing to do far more work to help yourself. Even in the US, students have to compile their college lists while also preparing for many exams their senior year in high school.

Where you go to college is probably the most important decision that any person your age gets to make. The more that you put into researching this decision, the better your options will be.

It will be important for you to find the time to do some basic research. Afterward, my guess is that if you post your list and give background info on yourself, people here will give you advice that will help you refine your lists. However, it's very doubtful that people here will do the basic research for you. That's something you need to do for yourself, and there are plenty of free Internet resources that would allow you to do this.

Williams is a wonderful place, but it's very sporty and pretty far from anything except small towns. Check out Tufts, Brown, Northwestern, Swarthmore, Haverford, Pomona, Princeton.

georgetown has a HUGE amount of internationals and its great in humanities

wesleyan was my first instinct

Possibly St. John's College, Annapolis, Maryland.

thanks guys. i was just looking for some kind of starting point. ok i'll go and check those out now

try using www.theu.com, someone else recommended it to me cuz i was totally clueless and lost with my college search, and it helped me get an overview of all the major schools

Do you mean that you need financial aid? That is hard to find as an international student.
