I go to a giant school with like 700 kids in my graduating class. We probably have one a year, if that, go to a school like HYPSM. (I hope to be that one haha) anyway… Most kids there have no idea of what’s going on in reality, so they wouldn’t even care, while the small handful of kids that even bothered to apply to those schools (maybe about 3 or so) would be upset. If I happen to be the “one” I certainly wouldn’t be an arrogant jerk about it. I might throw a dance party in my room by myself, but that’s about it. Besides it’s high school, where the real world doesn’t matter and matching your clothes is more important than a good education the only way I might even consider bringing it up is if another kid made fun of me or called me stupid. I don’t take kindly to bullying, toward myself, my friends, or anyone for that matter. Yay passive aggressive retaliation…!

For a brief moment, I wished you had written this on Facebook. ;)

Honestly, I think that most schools are like that - mine certainly is. Though we had a student go to Harvard about 6 years ago, our school has such a high (teacher) turnover rate that no one remembers, so the reaction to an acceptance into a so-called prestigious institution is .

Eh, I do this all the time. Don’t stress it - we can be foolish on anonymous online boards together. :)

When people asked me for my April 1 results I made a much bigger deal of getting waitlisted at Y, which I adored, than of being accepted at Harvard, about which I was apathetic, and at Dartmouth, about which I had already known. I wasn’t “quiet” about it though. No reason to be secretive.

Yeah… I know how people will react if I brag. Reason why I keep my test scores to myself unless someone asks. Then they go back feeling that they failed if they didn’t beat me.
