Would you pay 40k more overall for your dream school if the other school was just as good (prestige/academics) and you liked it but it wasn't where you really thought you should be?

Absolutely not. I'd consider going to dream school for grad school or living in that area after I entered my career.

What if the dream school was an LAC and located in a "not so fantastic" area? >.<

Having grown up in a not so fantastic area, my dream schools have always been in places that I would have loved to live.

ha brand, i am in the EXACT same situation with you. I really want to go to GWU and it will be about 40k more than UT Austin. You said it perfectly "if the other school was just as good (prestige/academics) and you liked it but it wasn't where you really thought you should be?"

You're also at UT Austin, right?

haha no I dunno why everyone thinks that. I'm at a CC but I did get into McCombs, though I turned them down.

brand,

Since you are considering law school and you now attend a really great undergrad, save the money to help pay off law school.
