My college list:
Early
UChicago
Georgetown

Regular
Stanford
Brown or UPenn
Tufts
Johns Hopkins
Northwestern
U Michigan
George Washington
U Illinois-Urbana Champaign

Regular
Stanford no
Brown or UPenn no
Tufts maybe
Johns Hopkins maybe
Northwestern maybe
U Michigan yes
George Washington yes
U Illinois-Urbana Champaign yes

if you have an amazing essay for U of chicago, you have a pretty good chance there. keep in mind, they really focus on essays, not just good test scores.

I'm Korean..
I haven't got my predicted scores yet..
so I'm not sure..but I think it will be quite Ok..
Do you guys think I'll have a good chance for Tufts, Georgetown, or Hopkins...
I would be happy to go to any of these schools..
I just wondered about the Ivys..

I was an intl student applying to Gtown, Tufts, and JHU four years ago and I got into all of them. My stats were similar to yours, except I had a really high reading score (790), while my math was more like 700, so it kind of is comparable to yours. I did have a lot more leadership roles than you, though, which I do think makes a difference.

If you don't need financial aid, then you are competitive for those schools. Otherwise, you probably have the slimmest of chances as not many schools besides Harvard give finaid to intl students.

You should know that UChicago is especially easy to get into as an intl student, in my school's experience (in Brazil). I know that the kids from my school who've gone to UChicago have noticeably lower stats, accomplishments than their US counterparts. UPenn is another school like this (and I should know, my lazy brother got in!).

Remember, this was four years ago, and my stats were similar but not identical. Also I had significantly more ECs and leadership roles whichI think were my selling point, that you don't have.

I got into Tufts, Gtown, JHU, Dartmouth, Cornell, NYU, JHU, Northwestern and a few others I wasn't that interested in.

I didn't apply to Chicago because I didn't really "feel" the school when I visited. I liked Northwestern better, myself.

I studed IR at Tufts, yes. I graduated this May.

Accepted at all. According to my assessment, I also foresee UIUC giving you much merit aid to attend there institution. However, I cannot guarantee this. It is merely my assessment, not the adcom's assessment. You are a very good student.

My assessments are from what I have seen from kids who have graduated. I know a few with lower GPA's than you and slightly lower SAT that got into the Uni's you wanna go to.
