Would you rather get take AP Calc AB and get A or AP Calc BC and get a B?

What would you guys do? I have to choose between AP Calc AB or BC next semester. I am pretty good at Calc (95% in AP Calc AB right now) but the BC teacher is someone who I just don't get along with. If I continue AB, I will have easier courseload and will definitely get an A. If I do BC, I will be miserable in the class and can't guarantee myself an A. I am sure I will score 5 on either AP test so that does not matter. What would you do? AB or BC? I also have 5 APs including this one, so I really want an easier courseload next semester.

You sound like you prefer the AB course. So, you have to choose between taking the easier course you prefer, or a harder course with a teacher you don't like. Personally, I would take the AB course. Bad teachers can really ruin the course for you, and it would make the struggle only harder.

Yeah, I second that. You seem to be happy where you are now, and it's not like it'll make a huge difference if you don't take BC.

Yeah, if you feel more comfortable in the AB course, stick with it.

The BC teacher is actually a much better teacher than my current AB teacher, but she and I just don't get along. I like math and possibly will choose it as my major. I am a junior and I can't be taking BC next year due to a full schedule. Will not doing BC hurt my applications if I choose to study math or economics in college?

I was in a very similar situation, and I ended up choosing AB Calc. This has worked out very well so far :)

Obviously colleges will see, but you're still taking an AP advanced math course, which is what matters. Getting an A in AB CAlculus still is an A in Calculus...BC Calculus is overly hard for no reason I'd say. Follow what you believe is best for you.
