I want to add one more class to my schedule, and I am in between taking two classes taught by the same professor. One of the classes looks quite interesting, but it is offered at 8:30 in the morning. The other class looks less interesting, but it is offered at 10:45. I have never been much of a morning person and probably would have done better in high school had I slept more than six or seven hours per night. Is it in my best interest to take the interesting looking 8:30 class if I'd find the material engaging but potentially be a bit sleep deprived, or should I go for the potentially bleh 10:45 class if I'd be more alert?

That’s a bit tricky… I think you should go for the one that looks more interesting.
The class may be at 8:30, but you can do the set work at any time - and it’s easier if you’re interested.
You might get better marks too.

I had the same dilemma. I chose the 8:30 class because the subject matter was more interesting. Not only did I manage to wake up early and be on time every class, I excelled and got lots of brownie points with the teacher. Got an A in the class. So I say go to sleep early and take the more interesting 8:30 class. =)

I would take the interesting and early class…but thats me.

Also early classes have more skivers, making it a smaller group which is usually better.

830 would be better for me. I have 3 8:30am classes next year for this reason (even though I am a total night owl)…plus this is just how my schedule worked out.

Take the 8:30 am class. If you’re really interested in it, you’ll find yourself willing to make the effort to get up early.

I did this with a 7:30am class. I only regretted it every morning for the first 10 minutes after I woke up. Otherwise, I thought I made the right decision.

8:30 definitely! Never miss the opportunity to take an interesting class.

the 830 without a doubt. doing it in the fall

Take the more interesting class.s

Interesting class. 8AMs are really not that hard to make it to if they’re interesting.

I always go for the later classes, but this year i had to make an exception with a 9:00 class. I say go for the interesting class. It’s bad to waste time in college.

Definitely the later class. You people in here are just crazy in the head…8:30…really?

oh boo hoo lol.

I’d take the later one, only because I know I wouldn’t go to the 8:30. I had a ridiculously interesting class at 8:50 last semester, but I only went three times, though to be fair all the work was doable outside of class, there were no tests or anything. I always felt bad but I have a really, really hard time getting up early.

I have Chem three days a week at 7:25… 8:30 is not a big deal

Take the interesting morning class. A boring class in the afternoon can put you to sleep easily.

The 8:30 class, plain and simple.

I think the consensus is the interesting class…you’ll probably do better in it.
