Would you rather take an interesting 8:30 class or potentially bleh later class?

Interesting, early class. Besides, 8:30 isn’t THAT early.

Early class by far. Especially if its interesting. I had a 8am japanese class once…and it lasted two hours.

Early class. I have a 3 hour chem lab starting at 7:45 this semester…

An interesting 8:30 AM class.

I’m by NO means a morning person, but you can plan your schedule around it, and you can always take a nap later on…

…whereas with a boring class, you will fall asleep no matter what time of day it is at.

I wouldn’t be able to enjoy the 8:30 class because I would be so damn tired.

8:30 am’s are waaaay better than 8 am’s. It does make a difference lol so take it!

An interesting class at 8am. I am used to waking up at 6am, so it’s ok by me. I am normally up at 6:30 (from 4 years of high school exp), so I do not mind having early classes. In fact, this fall, I have 9a classes on three days out of the week. Taking a boring class that’s later in the day might sound great, but it’s better to go to a class you are actually interested in.

I had a 7:30am graduate-level Physiology class that met every day. Tough class, and I had to trek across campus in the dark to get there (due to limited parking around the medical center). The class itself actually was of some interest, though the professor scared us to death into paying attention to every single syllable. After that experience, I think I could handle an interesting 8:30am class :)

Are you guys insane? I’ll die if I had to wake up then. Later one for me.

Both of the last semesters my 8 AM class was my favorite. They were both interesting subjects with great professors, and I found that the time actually worked in my favor because halfway through the semester half the class had quit showing up, which made the rest of us look good to the professor. The earliness itself wasn’t a problem for me in terms of paying attention/staying awake (rather I would fall asleep in my afternoon classes the same day), but I have a 45 minute commute to school so that may also have been a factor, since by the time I got to class I had had time to wake up fully.

My 8am Literary Studies class killed me, as it combined “early” and “bleh”. I found it more challenging than my organic chemistry class for this reason.

8:30 is not that early lol. Take the interesting class.

8:30 is not a time to be in class! they should pass a law (sracasm) that no class should be offered before 11 am.

I would definitely choose the 8:30 class, but I’d also generally rather have the blah class at 8:30 than at its normal time; that way I’d be able to pull myself out of bed early rather than late. Who knows, though, what I’ll think when I get to college? Uheheh.

I’ve been down this road a few times and I’ve usually regretted taking the early class because I’m not a morning person. Once, I even took an 8 am because the professor was known to give out A’s like candy and that was a disaster lol

Honestly, I took a morning class during the summer about two years ago. It was Calculus 2. It was 4 hours a day, 4 days a week, 8 weeks long. It started at 8:30. Since I had to commute, it took about an hour to get there.

It wasn’t my favorite class and I am a math major. No amount of love for a subject would have me doing it in a classroom at 8:30 (anymore). Unfortunately, I learned that the hard way because I slept through my entire history class the following semester twice a week for 16 weeks that began at 8. My art class after that I also slept through. Anything that starts after 10 is fine with me, though.

I have an extremely interesting 9:00 class (my school has very few 8 AMs, most of those we do have are the lecture/lab style science classes) on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. My friends who made their schedules have no 9 AMs or Friday classes want me to feel jealous, but I’m really looking forward to this class.

I’d take an early class over a later class if it was more interesting, but I’d first try to find an equally interesting class at a better time.

8:30 isn’t that early. I would definitely take the early/interesting class.

The worst part about early classes is looking forward to them. Once you’re actually out the door and on your way, it’s not so bad.

I’d take the early class, since I hate being tired/sleepy/hungry all at once at a late class. Then again, I define late as anything past noon…
