So I haven't gotten into Penn State, nor have I even applied (I just finished grade 11). But it is my number one choice for applications next year!!

A lot of people have been telling me it would be a good idea to pledge a sorority when I go to college because it's a great way to make friends and fun for outgoing people.

I'm a very friendly, outgoing person and I definitely want to have that reflect on my college experience. I'm not saying I plan on ditching my studies and using my college time as a non-stop drunken experience, but I would like to attend parties and be part of that kind of social life.

My only worries about a sorority are missing out on meeting other people (do people judge you based on whether or not you're in a sorority?). As well, I am a Canadian citizen and have spent very little time in the States so I don't really have any idea what sororities are like other than what people tell me and while many people say it isn't the "dumb girl" or "mean girl" stereotype everyone makes it out to be, I still have my suspicions. Last, like I said before, I am a Canadian student, so I'm not really sure at all how the process of pledging sororities works. I've researched a little but I still find it very confusing. Is it easy to catch on to once you start?

I think that's everything for now, but people's responses usually generate more questions so we'll see!!

Thanks!
