I should have asked this earlier since today is the deadline! But also for future test-taking…
College Board will send up to 4 free score reports to colleges if done by today. My D felt pretty confident that she did at least as well as PSAT. Based on those scores, she’s going to apply to several schools where her scores would be above their 50th percentiles. And beyond that, doesn’t CB automatically send all scores to a college if you send any?
My son chose to send his “freebies” to schools on his list that require ALL scores. He would’ve had to send them anyway… so why not take advantage of the “free”? He was very confident in how he felt after the test, and since he ended up with a 2320, he is glad he did.
Yes, would and did. This generated some early encouragement from some schools and a provisional acceptance from another. Some schools require all scores anyway so why not send what you can for free?
My D estimated her PSAT score to within 10 points so when she had a good feeling about her SAT we decided it was safe to send them.
Besides saving some money, I am much more comfortable knowing her SAT scores will already be at the university by the time she applies. After the PSAT score debacle, there is no way I am waiting until we see her October results to start sending scores since all her schools have early deadlines.
Some colleges want all scores from all test dates. Some permit you to choose which date(s) you send from (look for “Score Choice” on the College Board website). Many schools superscore so they will only look at the highest score in each section, no matter when the test was taken.
Agree with those who have already recommended to send the free ones to schools that will require all scores. If you have any of the 4 free sends left, then send them to potential safety schools.
If we wanted to send scores from multiple sittings after the final sitting, will we be able send all scores for free, or is it just the set of scores from the the final sitting?
