Go start a different thread!

Congratulations…you will be joining the ranks of many brothers who have achieved great personal success and enriched the lives of others including Supreme Court Justice Byron White, Hall of Fame professional athletes, authors like Kurt Vonnegut and even Coach Lou Holtz. Make the most of the opportunity and have fun.

We’ll be down for parents weekend and they always host a pregame barbecue at the house for alums and parents before the game. I hope we can meet!

Maybe so. Right now, though, my mother is wanting me to defer until the spring to officially pledge. I kind of agree as right now I still need to get established academically before I take on more. I will talk with them and see if it’s ok. I don’t know what access I will have to the house if i do defer. I hope by asking if I can, they dont just withdraw the bid.

I don’t think that will happen. I know they had someone defer last year and go through with his bid with thr spring pledge class. Talk to them. I do know their pledge period/activities are far far less stressful and time consuming than many other houses.

i just sent an email to the VP of recruitment asking if a deferral was acceptable. i did talk to my mother for a while about it, and i think we both agree that spring may be a better time to join. it may not be that stressful, but i’ve got all i can handle academically, right now. it’s good to know that i will have a good group of guys now. i’ll let you all know what they tell me. from my previous dealings, i dont think they will mind as they’ve been great so far.
