Last year I went from all A/A+ in all easy regular classes to ALL A- and a few A's in all hard classes. Damn, and there really is no way to raise all of the A-s...

So that brings my GPA from a 3.95 -> 3.8
Will this reflect really poorly on my transcript? I'm a soph btw

Yeah, but honestly I'm doing really really bad compared to others in my class. Honestly though, the only reason I'm asking is because my parents are flipping out on me because I have 4 A-'s as opposed to A's. -_-

The decline in my GPA does look pretty bad though.

I'm sick of these posts. Some people have real problems. If you're getting a D THEN you can post. Getting an A- versus an A... NOBODY CARES!

I'm sorry to be blunt, but it's really getting obnoxious. Colleges are going to give you THEIR GPA which will not count your pluses and minuses. If it bugs you that much then do extra credit or something.

ALRIGHT, chill out. For god's sake, I just asked a question because I received some grades that brought down my average, I really didn't expect to be called a "loser" and "obnoxious." Seriously, what's with the god damn hostility?

MegaVortex, colleges don't see a difference in an A- and an A. When they calculate their own GPA they ignore - and +, so really a drop in +/- doesn't mean anything to them. But, I can undestand that your parents may seem it is. You should explain to them that it is NOT a problem, but you will try harder. If that doesn't work ask your GC to email them.

When colleges calculate their own GPA, do they grade on a scale of 90-100 being an A, 80-89 a B, and so on? I say this because my school grades on a scale of 94-100 A, 88-93, B and so on.

If the only thing you have to offer schools is academics, then it will hurt. Otherwise, not really. But most top tier schools won't want you anyway if the only thing you're bringing to the table is academics.

Keep that GPA at a 3.8 for the next two years and get good SAT scores and get some great ECs (seriously, just three things, how hard can it be), and you'll be some serious competition for the other gazillion sophomores. Won't you guys have a bigger applicant pool than this year's? I thought I saw that somewhere.
