Wow I can't believe it!! I just got a big envelope in the mail with an acceptance letter and info about the school, etc. Does this qualify as an "early letter"??? Has anyone else gotten this? When were decision letters supposed to be mailed out anyways?

Congrats! XD

I read back through last year's posts and apparently minorities get their acceptances earlier because of their diversity day that happens before WesFest?

I think everybody else got theirs closer to/after the April 1st date.

Again, congrats... I only hope I'm as lucky in a couple of weeks XD

Nah. You're in!

My friend got accepted today, too.

lucky duck!

wow JEALOUS! luckymint is not a minority (well according to her/his previous posts anyways) unless asian is the new minority at wes. :P

congrats luckymint!! i'm happy for youu! now that you've gone and told me it's a big envelope, i'll be even more nervous looking into the mailbox! haha...

Congratulations, luckymint. Lucky luckymint! I hope I'll be getting an acceptance letter in the mail on Monday. I live in NYC, and we just had a storm here, so... I don't think I'll be able to sleep these two nights.

i also got my wesleyan package/acceptance letter and the invitation the pre-frosh days for students of color. too bad the dates overlap with yale's bulldog days. though at this point i'm pretty sure which school i'll be choosing.

Congratulations! A friend of mine got hers today too - she's asian, so maybe asian does count as minority at Wesleyan these days?

So if I'm a minority and haven't heard back by Monday or so, does that mean that I probably didn't get in? meh.. I'm kind of bummed, although I was kind of expecting a rejection from wesleyan.

the wait till monday....

I didn't say under-represented minority, I simply said minority. There's a distinct difference.

I'm Hispanic and I just heard last night--my first letter from any college! I'm so psyched b/c I didn't have very good grades this past semester (AP Physics, Govt, Calc, and Lit hehe). Where else did everyone apply? How high is Wesleyan on your lists? How much do you think being a minority helped us?

At Wesleyan, people of Asian descent are considered students of color, also known as "minorities", although you won't hear that word very often if you come here.

oh whoa - sorry then, didn't know that!

so if we ARE minority and have yet to receive our letter, can we assume we've been rejected? ... lol :(

Congratulations!! Although it was nice to get in early and be done with all this admissions stuff, I'm getting jealous of my friends who are hearing from colleges now. It's so exciting.

i dont think its exciting...not exciting if you're a shoo-in and not exciting if you have a small chance for your #1 school

Yeah, I wouldn't label it as "exciting." More like "nervewracking."

Yeah, my question exactly.. but I guess I'll just cross my fingers, hold my breath and hope that I hear something tomorrow. And, if not.. well, I guess it's over with. It sort of sucks, though. I wish I could at least get a real rejection letter if I am definitely rejected. I am going to need some closure.

...So if we're not a minority, do we still have to wait another week or two? Or should I be sitting out by my mailbox right now?

Something can't be nerve-wrecking and exciting at the same time?
