WOW! That was an exciting game.

UCF should feel very proud of their performance against TEXAS. Final score TX 35, UCF 32.

I'm hot. I'm wet! I had to, sad to say, go to the first aid station before the beginning of the game as I got over-heated. But after an ice pack for the neck and a bit of time in front of the misting fans, I was good to go. Was that place rockin' or rollin' or what! I hope they tested the structural integrity. Lordy ...

zebes, proud of UCF

I agree. Great game, great new venue. I lived in the Orlando area when UCF started to take rise from the pastures as FTU. My Dad went back to school nights when I was about 15 and got his Masters and EdD there. Two sisters and a brother-in-law graduated from UCF also. I enjoyed the Duante Culpepper days. Now, hopefully, the George OLeary era.

I enjoyed seeing Texas' coach smile and exclaim:"Well, I'm not going to play to open any more stadiums!" (or something similar)

I was really screaming at the television. I think the new stadium on campus is a great addition for the student body.

Ah, great game. Glad to know the program is heading in the right direction. Hopefully this game helps our recruiting, and we showed the nation we are more than just a subpar Conference-USA team.

Anyone who went, how is the stadium?

The stadium's very nice -- except the whole lack of water fountain thing. LOL But I'm sure they'll remedy that somehow. We got there about 11am parked in one of the garages in the B area, I think, and tailgated in a grassy area near there. Lots of trees where we were and kids playing frisbee and football. We didn't head for the memorial mall chaos .. although we walked through it on the way to the game. The stadium's loud!!! for a variety of reasons: the sound of pounding, stomping feet up above on that metal when you're beeneath it, CRAZY! And then our seats are near the student section, so triple crazy! One thing we liked was that there's quite a bit of leg room. People could walk in front of you and you didn't feel as though you had to do contortions to let them by and my husband's got long legs and he was very comfortable. We also didn't feel too squished, in terms of seat room. We left after the last Texas touchdown, as we had a "mom-sitter" at home and needed to be there by 8:00pm. We got in our car at 7:55 and we were home by 8:15. No trouble getting out ... but then, we left a bit early.

zebes

The stadium was built to be loud

D said she heard from someone that they were on ESPN, so I had recorded the game and went back and looked at the area she mentioned. Sure enough just after UCF scored to make it 7-3 their she was with about 10 of her friends, waving towels, face painted, guys with no shirts the whole student spectacle was covered. Really nice closeup I'll show it to her when she gets home.

Sore throats all around yesterday, everyone I guess just slept in
