I just got it today...came in a freakin brown paper envelope...inside are two letters and some information printed in cheap flyer type paper...

Does it still say pre-ee major?

no it says Electrical Engineering now....weird

Really? Wow, I might reconsider them now, lol..
Hey, are you allowed to take summer classes at UCLA yet?

no idea...

i got the ucsd package twice, and oddly enough it was the same for both terms, spring and fall. i though at first that maybe since it was spring that it was ugly looking b/c not man people apply so they just send out something random without an official packet, but then in the fall i got the same thing and i was disspointed, i wanted something cool, ucla gave me something cool.

yea...nothing can beat UCLA's admission packet....the thing is UCD and UCI's admission packet was better than UCSD's....go figure...they won't raise through the school rankings with crap

I thought UCLA's packet was weak, actually.

Berkeley's was simple and straightforward--they know they don't need to impress much with such a thing.

Wasnt Cals and Las very similar?

guys.

it's just admissions letters. calm the **** down. thanks.

i guess im not the only one with the same thoughts...

whats in the packet? what does it tell you or is it just the letter to tell you if your in or not?

Haven't seen it (praying I will soon) but I heard USCs is great. A huge envelope with a real nice certificate of admission, the letter and a bunch of other stuff.

wow we have a USC groupie here folks...welcome sir

Hey Citan, just curious, on the ucsd admissions website does it still have your major listed as pre-electrical engineering?

ee_stu,

You would choose a school based on a silly prefix? Huh.

Everyone,

Admissions packets, while a nice touch, are largely meaningless. When I got into UCs, Cal's was gigantic and beautiful, as was UCLA's. You know whose was best?

UCI.

No joke.

But don't feel too bad. UCSD IR/PS (my grad program) also sent out a little envelope with nada. I say the program should speak for itself, not fancy paper and logos. Although, LSE's packet was gorgeous...

UCCE: no...wow it changed too!!! it was pre-EE just a week ago....

"On behalf of the faculty, staff and students of the University of California, San Diego, I congratulate you on your admission to Muir College as a major in Electrical Engineering! UCSD is one of the nation's most outstanding universities, and we look forward to welcoming you to our campus. "

UCLAri: you liked UCI's.....it was just two pieces of paper....

UCI would kill for more students, that's why...

Citan,

I guess UCI changed their packet.

At any rate, if what I hear from friends getting into grad schools is any indication, big beautiful packets are a thing of the past. Most of the bleeding edge-types of schools are moving past that, and putting everything on teh Intarwebs to save money.
