WOW! what a deal.....

This is a update report based on my "Daddy needs help" post.

Spoke to admissions at BC,Tufts and BU and this is the bottom line.

Since it has been years since I was in school (18+)very little weight if any would be placed on GPA. Most do not care about old old GPA no need for SAT No high school transcripts no essay.

However,if I were to take a semester now at virtually any college day or night they would place most of their decision on that recent GPA. Also, adults use less of their expensive resources and are desired.

I was told that people of my age are treated on a case by case basis. My chances are very good.I do not need to jump through all those hoops.

A friend of mine that is my age (42) is currently at harvard as a full time day student, working on his masters. He started out not finishing high school but did a ged. Then two years at a community college with a GPA of 2.95. Then as an adult finished his 4 year school with a 3.65. This path got him into Harvard for his masters.

If you are reading this and you are still in high school do not not see this as reasoning to slack off. My friend and I were very fortunate in life and were successful despite not going to college straight away. We are also very greatful we have the rare opportunity to be able not to have to work while we persue our desires.

All in all, the only difference at my age (aside from money) between full day and part time night was scheduling. I wanted to be home when my little boy gets off the bus or else it wouldnt matter.

I will keep everyone posted on how things proceed.
