Wow...

I've seen a lot of my senior friends get into colleges of their dreams..

That's pretty awesome.

I can't wait for my turn.

How have your friends or yourself fared in the college realm?

(Just recently, I've had a couple of friends accepted in UPenn, one accepted into MIT, I'm sure there'll be a Yale acceptance, and I'm not sure if there'll be a Harvard acceptance).

I also hope that my friends who were deferred get in.

My friend got into Upenn. He was ecstatic.

I finally collected all 7 recommendation letters from the mages guilds. This pretty much guarantees my admittance to Arcane University, so I’m sittin’ pretty.

A lot of my friends have gotten into their first choice. I have as well, but I’m wavering in my choice. I have a feeling I’m gonna change my mind.

I have friends getting into Stanford, MIT, Caltech, and Yale. Sigh… It’s so close to our turn!

This entirely gives me a cooler view of my friends.

Even if they all were geniuses lol.

Also had friends get into rice, purdue engineering.

I’m a junior. The coolest thing so far was me and the val winning NMSF lol

lol I’m a junior as well.
I’ve got my RSI app, my chemistry summer app, my MITES app, and my Carnegie Mellon SAMS. app

It’s bittersweet for me. I’m happy that all my friends are getting into the schools they wanted (Dmouth, Columbia, Vandy, etc.) but it sucks to think I still have to spend another year here without them before I can be in their current position.

Hi, senior here  I got into my dream school, Reed College.
But I had two friends get into Swarthmore, two into Cornell, one into Brown, one to Bowdoin…
Lol Yale deferred all 10 of our applicants this year…But it’s because they accepted 6 kids last year from our school.

Most of my friends have a pretty sweet acceptance in hand at this point, my school did pretty decent in the early round this year. I can personally say I feel like all the pressure is gone since I’ve been accepted. I’ve only got 3 more apps to send out (and 1 I already sent before early decisions) and my wait till April definitely won’t be filled with anxiety. I suspect that senioritis will hit me quite hard pretty soon.

lol sweet.

Damn… I’m really gonna miss the seniors that I know.

Maybe I’ll be able to join them one day.

my school has nothing this year…

I’m slowly moving my way towards completing all my apps. Just got a lot of essays to write, really.

Praying for a Yale acceptance so much right now (see my other thread lol), but will see how it goes I guess. I do have an advantage in that I’m a QuestBridge Finalist, I guess. haha

@Francaisalamatt - Congrats on getting into Reed! That’s quite the accomplishment.

My friend got into MIT (his dream school), but that’s the only impressive acceptance. Extremely impressive, considering that less than 30% on average of each graduating class goes on to college for my school, and 90% of the ones that do, go to our state university.

Two of my friends got into U Chicago, one got into Cal Tech, two got into Emory.

I can’t wait until next year :D

Senior here - I got into Swarthmore! Congrats on Reed, Francaisalamatt! I was going to apply there if I didn’t get accepted to Swat.

@starfruit - Congrats! That’s also a great accomplishment. I was going to apply there but I had to remove it (along with a few other colleges) because I was going to be overloading myself with essay-writing work.

I’m a senior, and no one in my class applied early to anywhere. To my knowledge, I don’t think anyone at my school ever has. We’ve had one kid go to an Ivy League/school of similar prestige in the last 6 years or so.

Honestly, I wish I found out about CC sooner. I had no idea what it took to get into an HYPS etc. until my junior year. I didn’t even know SAT IIs existed until the end of sophomore year, and didn’t know it was possible to self-study APs.

My school lives in a bubble; I try to educate ambitious underclassmen a bit on just how much more competitive applicants outside our school are, but I doubt any are actually going to do anything about it.
