Wow...

I just talked to my regional representative, Yhana Chavis, she is one of the nicest people I have ever spoken to on the phone. I was a little annoyed as I had called a while ago and not received a return call, but after she apologized for not getting back to me sooner and was just a very nice woman, I got off the phone with her happy. I had a very long conversation with her, it was about 45 minutes, and it really seemed like she cared and knew my application well. To any other ED applicant, I suggest you call your regional representative because they are really helpful and encouraging. My advice to any other ED applicant is be positve, be persisant, and be proactive. Alright, that’s all for now…

Good luck. You wouldn't believe how many people I know who were deferred and don't want to contact their regional reps because they are afraid of being too pushy or they are just nervous.

I'd say 14% of people call their regional representatives....(looks at how many people are accepted after deferral)....hmmmmm

J/k, but knowing what's wrong with your app gives you a huge advantage and talking to your regional rep, letting her know who you are, and reminding her Penn is still #1, will give you an ally in the war room (my pet name for the admission office)

Good luck, that took courage to call! Alot of people don't like accepting help or taking advice!

Yhana is indeed awesome.

yeh, she's my regional director, too. I've been tryin' to get ahold of her. What did you guys talk about?

know111 you were lucky...My regional rep called me back and he seemed to be in a hurry, he told me everthing was fine with my application except the competition was extremely keen this year, when i asked what i do, he told me to re-take the SAT if possible...was that helpful??? Was that he really want to help or just blah blah blah......

We talked about a lot of things: why I was deferred, what I could do to have better luck in the RD round, my junior year grades (my weak point), my senior year, and some of my activities.
