Wow

So who else is exhaling after that ASU game?

lol, same here.

Luckily the Wildcats will be much easier to score on next week.

Seriously, I can't believe we pulled through. But we did.

It was so painful to watch. The first half just hurt. I was talking to my Dad (who went to Stanford) after, and he said I had no right to complain, because at least our team won. I'm glad we did.

Yeah...what were they thinking

oh my god. i had to keep turning it off and going to the other rooom to breathe. the end was kind of anitclimactic though.
i can't wait for next week though... i love home games!

OK, I went to the game with a bunch of other students. All I can say is, the entire game day was incredibly stressful. Obviously the game was terrible to watch, minus the ending (and I discovered that it was much harder to watch when you were actually there. When I was watching the Oregon game in my apt, we were losing, but I was still cozy, and felt like we would be fine). Being at the actual game was terrifying. I felt like I needed to do something, but I couldn't. Plus it was like 100 degrees and we were literally baking out there (and fyi, I had an S painted on one cheek, and a C, painted on the other, and I now have a tan the shape of a C on me- luckily the S had become smudged and didn't leave a burn). And the most awful part of the game, were the fans. Don't get me started. They are seriously some of the rudest people I have ever met. Mainly it was just the students. We were yelled at constantly, both basic things like "USC sucks" and then much more personal, horrifying comments. My friends and I had to walk in front of the student section, and it was almost scary. Besides the deafening screaming, they were throwing stuff at us. Yes, they were actually doing that. It was not fun. I was actually scared to leave the game if were to lose, because of how the fans might act. Whew, I was glad to get back to SC today!

Sadly, I have to miss the Arizona game for my sister's wedding next weekend. But, still, Fight On and Beat the Wildcats! :)

"the end was kind of anitclimactic though."

Haha... putting the game out of reach with a whopping 3 minutes to go isnt exciting enough? Especially considering the first two games were over before they started...

uschicka...what did you expect from the ASU students?...Its ASU, thats what they do... and missing a football game for a wedding??? Weak excuse...

At the end of the day they go to ASU and we go to USC. I would be angry if I were an ASU student too. Bad school, bad location, bad prospects of a future after 4 years. Can you think of anyone who would even choose to go to ASU over USC? So let's try to understand their frustration and jealousy.

It troubles me somewhat that many students care so much about winning the football games. I mean - it's a big deal, but it really doesn't have anything to do with me personally. I'm sure we'll lose a game some day - what will happen then? From the looks of it, I'm afraid someone will kill themselves!

It's also worrisome that students at other schools are so hostile about it. I hope we don't treat them the way some of them treat us. I think we should always be friendly and honorable... whether we win or lose.

It's called school spirit!

No college football team in history has won three consecutive national championships. It'll be awesome if we can do it this year. If we lose, then I'll move on (eventually), but considering we have one of the best teams ever, what's wrong with caring about winning?

Making the record books beckons. History itself beckons. That's pretty big. It's not just about winning games.

elliot, football is like Bacchic wine...

USC football is a tradition on this campus, and there's so much that's going on right now, as well! We're lucky to be here at such an exciting time (rather than the 90s when they never won). So many things are going down in the history books. Including attendance records, so everyone should go!

Oh, and Cubs, I know it's weak, but what can I do? I'm the maid of honor. But believe me, I voiced my opinion. :) The wedding's not until 2, so I'll have about an hour to somehow find out what's going on...

Oh, and speaking of ASU vs. USC. So I was standing in line for a smoothie before the game. The ASU girl behind me is talking to an ASU guy. She tells him she wished she went to SC. He asked if it was hard to get into. She said it was basically behind Stanford in California, and that we were practically an Ivy League. It was entertaining.

HAHA... Nice story about the ASU kids... Arent we practically an Ivy?

I guess if you had to pick one game to miss over the course of the season, it would probably be the 'Zona game... I mean, an away game (UWashington) would be ideal, but we are 37 point favorites against Arizona... Its not going to be THAT fun... (im just trying to spare you, its gonna be blast!)

Isn't there a lot of grade inflation at Ivies? You practically get grade deflation here.

You certainly do in Marshall.
