WPI Early Action II

Merit Scholarship Letter and Decision Letter are both posted online.

Accepted with Presidential scolarship! I wasn’t expecting any aid!

Received a deferal from WPI. It was a reach but definitely son’s top choice. Not sure if we will wait it out though.

Would the people who got rejected mind sharing some stats? It would help me out to know what WPI is looking for, since my S2 hopes to go there next year.

Thank you very much.

I was accepted but there was no information about merit scholarships in my letter. And my admission status account looks the same as it did before. Kind of bothered about this. I was sure that I would get a scholarship - I mean, at least a little bit. Nothing at all seems pretty harsh.

chocchipcookie-My DS’s Stats: 1980 SAT, 3.37 GPA.

^^Thanks so much for sharing, Confusedmom. Anyone else? It would be most helpful. Thanks.

The page where I can check my status has updated to say that I have been accepted. But now, the link titled “Merit Award Letter” just takes me to a pdf copy of the scholarship supplement that I sent them. I guess I’ll never know…

Alright! Thank you US Postal Service. DS’ admission letter arrived. He said he was so relieved to see a big envelope. And, after bringing it all upstairs, he laughed because the envelope actually said Congratulations on the outside, but he hadn’t noticed it.

Stats: 1970 SAT, 32 ACT, 3.62 UW, 3.82W (AP Eng. Lang - 4, and all APs this year, incl. Calc BC). Very good ECs (Sports, Music, Eagle Scout, several hundred community service hours), although no cancer cures. Assume recs were very good.

It’s a small thing, but we love the WPI (with the pi symbol) sticker. Now to contemplate money issues…because there was not a merit scholarship letter…financial aid letter to come.

Unseen - If you haven’t gotten the acceptance in the mail, it sounds like there might be a merit scholarship letter in there. I think I’ve read that some come later (at least I’m hoping - LOL). Good luck and congrats.

Checked my application status and was accepted into Engineering  with a good merit scholarship, it’ll be a few days before the actual letter arrives since we’re still snowed in over here in CT :(

Acording to poster’s stats and the common data set, looks like the cutoff is mainly @ 3.5 for admission. Yikes, we may in trouble…better find other schools as back up in case they reject my S2 next year! :(

USN: Cannot believe he was deferred. Yikes.

My son was one of those who got the big red envelope with the acceptance in it with mention of financial aid review but no award included.
The next day he got a separate, small white envelope with a University Award merit letter. We live very close to campus so I am guessing that is why he got it all so quickly and avoided the snow issues.
When he logs in to check application status, there is only the acceptance letter, nothing about the merit.
So, don’t give up hope on some merit $ although, for us, it was a bit of a let-down how much he got. He has some friends from his HS who are juniors at WPI (and love it there) and they got quite a bit more with similar stats :frowning: and neither of his friends had financial need.

KD94025 - I hope you’re right, for both our sakes.

Would those accepted mind sharing your stats and merit awards?

Did anyone else submit the scholarship supplement?
