WPI(MA) vs. Trinity University (Texas)

I got into these schools. If I go to WPI, I will major in mechanical engineering; otherwise, I will study psychology in Trinity University. Money and location do not matter in my case. Which school has better ranking in its field? Which school you guys think I should attend? And which school may make it easier for me to get into famous graduate schools? I appreciate all your advice.

I'm interested in the answers regarding Trinity. My son wants to major in Psych, and Trinity is on the list of schools he's considering.

trinity is better. It ranks No.1 among all the Masters in the west.

WPI is all right, but nothing special, reputation-wise. However, being so near Boston, you’d have the opportunity to make academic contacts that might be useful for getting into grad schools.

MechE or psych…are you planning a career in human factors engineering? :)

I don’t know anything about Trinity other than that it’s religiously affiliated, which WPI is not.

The affiliation with the Presbyterian church is very loose.

Much more important is what major you really have a passion about rather than the rep of the school.

Just looked at the original post - it’s a year old. Wonder what the OP decided?

Easy choice would be WPI. More gard opportunitites and one of the best engineering/science schools in the country. There are 3 or 4 Trinity schools. I believe they are located in Texas, CT, Chicago. That is simply annoying.
