My last thread on this forum got 0 replies, let's see if I can do better....Anybody recall if there is a WPI supplement to the regular Profile with additional questions? All of us have been driving the same car for 15 years, it is starting to rust away. I'd like to purchase a car for the next 15 years if I can find a great deal with good financing, without worrying whether it sounds enough like an econobox to a financial aid officer. Does Hampshire ask make and model of the family vehicle?

Hampshire? You posted in the WPI forum. And I don’t believe any college cares about what car you drive.

Oops - I did post the same question over there. Too late to edit.

But no gamer gal that is not true - some colleges DO ask specific supplemental questions to the CSS profile. Two years ago I recall a school wanting to know the make, model, year, and purchase price of all cars owned by the parents and/or student. I believe it was Northwestern when I was completing the profile for my daughter’s application.

Nonetheless as I recall your son applied to WPI so I will take this as a “no” – many thanks.

That’s crazy that any school would ask about cars. None of the 6 colleges my son applied to or 10 my daughter applied to requested this level of detail.

You are correct that WPI never asked about cars. In fact we appealed his FA package and they increased it by $4000.

My son ended up accepting admission at USC.

Congrats to your son @GamerGal27 - he will love USC.

Heard back from a parent on another thread that Bates did ask about the cars in supplemental questions. I think it’s a “lifestyle” issue although how they weigh that stuff…I have no idea.

FWIW, I remember having to answer the cars question on the PROFILE for our older son. Don’t remember which school(s) though (he did not apply to WPI).
