I couldn’t find the regular decision thread so I decided to make a new one! How is everyone doing with the wait? I’m super excited since we might hear from them in 10 days! Does anyone know a specific date?
Also, please share anything about admission to WPI, just to help everyone keep calm and be ready to receive admission notifications or to decide whether the school would be a good choice for them
@Klossy Last year Regular Decision was announced on Fri March 20 according to older threads in this forum. I plan to watch the WPI Admissions twitter feed as they announce in advance the date of decisions.
I think it’s very likely to be this Friday, since last year’s applicants heard on Friday too. WPI is one of my favorite schools, so I really want to be accepted.
It’s official, guys!!! I just saw this tweet from WPI Admissions: “Admission decisions for all first-year applicants will be available on Friday, March 18 beginning at 5pm EDT at http://admissions.wpi.edu/status.” So yeah, that’s tomorrow evening!!
1780 SAT
4.0 GPA Weighted
AP Calc BC; AP Economics; Honors Modern Physics
Strong Essay and recs.
Northeastern was a reach school for her - WPI should be a target. She’s already received acceptances from UVM with Merit; UConn; UMass Lowell Honors College and Wenworth with Merit. She’s going for Industrial or Mechanical Engineering depending on the school.

I have very similar stats. My GPA is done on a different scale, but other than that I think we are pretty close. 1860 SAT here though. Honestly if you ask me, the SAT was (they changed it recently and I don’t know how it is now) a very poor indicator of my academic achievement. I got nervous when I was taking it haha. Anyway, I believe your daughter has an excellent shot, and I wish her the best of luck!

I agree on the SAT for my daughter as well - we probably should have had her take the ACT - but waited too long for the second SAT so ran out of time. My son is a Junior and did great on the old format SAT but plans to take the ACT this year instead of the new SAT. Our GPA’s are actually on a 100 point scale - I converted it to the 4.0 scale.Sounds like you have a great shot as well - WPI is a fantastic school. Best of luck to you also!
