Hi, I'm a Chinese applicant.
I just got my ED rejection letter this morning from Johns Hopkins University , where my dad attended his MD program and did his post Dr.'s research. Being realistic, I started to look for safe schools ,and WPI popped up.
I just knew that WPI's SAT requirement is optional, and I want to apply for scholarships.
My SAT: CR:550+ Math:720+WR:620=1890. A pretty sad score, but I have no time to retake it. By the way I took 2 SAT IIs : Biology E 600, Math I 690(I had two weeks to prepare, and those bio English terms really scared me)
My TOEFL iBT is 29+28+24+24=105
I am constantly involved in AP honor program at an international school. I am taking Calculus BC, Chemistry, Macro/Micro Economics, Computer Science A, Physics B, and English Language and Composition.
I am the founder of our school's Roots & Shoots program and we have received 2 achievement awards from Dr. Jane Goodall in person.
I interned at my dad's hospital. Patient care and lab researches.
Other ECs and awards are omitted.
My questions is that should I submit my sad SAT scores to WPI if I want to get scholarships?Or is it better not to do so since they don't require plus my SATs are unbelievably low.?
(By the way I want to major in biology and biotech)
What other schools should I consider?
Many thanks.

Keep waiting…

If your test scores aren’t required for scholarship consideration, I would not submit them.

I received the admission letter. They said nothing about the scholarships…My made 2220 on SAT1 and 2400 on SAT2. Maybe they know I applied WPI as a safety, or maybe because I don’t have good ECs. So, don’t overestimate the importance of SAT scores.
