I think this is really good news.
Taken directly from Princeton review website @ https://princetonreview.blog/2017/11/03/can-you-self-report-sat-and-act-scores/:
“Picture a student who took a test twice and waits to see the results before sending the scores to eight colleges. Eight colleges represents a nice mix of reach, match, and safety schools. It is smart to take the SAT or ACT twice since many schools will superscore the exams, meaning they will take the best section scores off different administrations and combine them to come up with the best total score. If our student took the SAT twice and sends both scores, the total cost will be $96.00 ($48.00 if the student has four “anytime” score sends). If the student does the same with the ACT, however, the cost will be $208.00 (ACT, once again, provides no “anytime” score sends). In the vast majority of cases, these scores are sent in an electronic file once a week. Students can rush scores, which get sent out every day, but those fees are even higher…”
Looks like a financial break for the applicant! :bz
