I rejected from all the ivies and waitlisted to some universities.
Fortunately, I have two universities which are St.Lawrence University and WPI.

WPI offer me $32,000 per yr for four yrs while SLU offer me $25,000 per yr for four yrs.

I'm really confused now because I am really interested in Robotics engineering program in WPI. But, I'm also interested in mathematics and computer science program in SLU(also their friendly nature).

Are they good programs in each of the university?

Are these two universities okay in US? Will I get job easily or go to prestigious school after graduating?

Also, could you please tell me which one has more opportunity and which one is better, considering both majors future outlook, academic, social life and school's fame.

Thank you so much for any help!!!

Congratulations on your acceptances. The first thing that you need to understand about attending university in the US is that how prestigious a university is perceived doesn’t matter nearly as much as how strong a program is within that university. My husband, and other engineers I know who are responsible for hiring new graduate engineers, would be reluctant to hire a graduate from, say, Harvard even though everybody knows that Harvard is a great school. It’s just that it isn’t known for engineering.

I don’t know anything about St. Lawrence but WPI has excellent programs in robotics and computer science. WPI also has excellent job and grad school placement. Good luck making your decision!

@GraniteStateMom Thank you so much for taking your time to reply for me! That is really great information and advice! I’m still deciding, but considering the financial aid and robotics program, I’m heading towards WPI!!
