WR Question

_______ anything like this style of architecture before, we thought we were looking at giant sculptures, not buildings.

A. Never had we seen
B. Never having seen
C. Never seeing

Please also tell me why is B right but A and C wrong.

This action happens in the past, so C is wrong (to me). A is a run-on sentence.

Because it is Past Perfect Tense. [Even] happened [before] another [event].

^I get it’s past perfect tense, but why can we use “having” in this case?

Another question:

It is not part perfect continuous, I guess
