I applied by the Oct 1 deadline, and since then my scores have improved!!!

SAT: M-770 CR-680 W-670
GPA: 3.8-3.9 (the way GAtech calculates it)
EC: Plenty, completely filled out that section. Lots of leadership, vice pres, team captain, etc.
Work Exp: Have had 2 jobs throughout high school and during summer
Essay: I thought it was pretty good and so did two of my teachers, but who knows
Rigor: 11 AP classes and 11 Honors classes by the time I graduate

So do you think ill get in? Thanks

I’d say you have a very good chance. About the same/ better than my scores/ more APs and I go to GT.

Very good scores - shouldn’t be a problem.

Also, people should give their actual unweighted GPA, not based on the “GT Calculation”. The stats posted for admission are based on overall UW GPA.

Thanks for chancing. Actual unweighted isn’t much lower, about 0.2 less.

Question for Burdell.
How would GT know the actual unweighted GPA of anyone if they calculate it based on what is reported by the student? If the student’s transcript includes weighting already, he or she is instructed to report exactly what appears on the transcript. A lady from admissions came to my school and said they use exactly what you report and add 0.5 to AP classes. Do they look at individual school weightings and recalculate from there? If so, wouldn’t that be incredibly tedious given there are thousands of applicants?

no. whatever your transcript shows…is what they see. they dont remove numerical weightings ect…but your in.

The statistics that are reported outside of Tech to ratings agencies report the actual UWGPA - no weighting at all. Since those of us outside of the admissions office can only see what is reported outside of the Institute, that’s what we have to go by.
