Wrestling and Lacrosse

I played tennis freshman and sophomore years. I didn't do too well (JV both years), and now I want to do wrestling and lacrosse next year as a junior simply because they look fun, they're more athletic than tennis (good for my body, seeing as I'm a freaking stick right now).

Plus, the main reason is a bunch of my friends are doing either/both. Probably JV for wrestling, but my friend said any juniors/seniors go on varsity lacrosse. Sure I won't be starting, but it'd be fun, right?

I'm 5'8" (well, 7.8 inches) and 115-118 lbs (flucuating depending on whether I've eaten or not). I've started working out, 6/7 days (bodybuilding, plyometrics, cardio), plus eating as much as can (protein, milk etc.) and hope to be in good shape over the summer.

Should I do it? How easy is wrestling and lacrosse to pick up? My friend said wrestling isn't too hard to pick up, but lacrosse seems tougher.

for lacrosse- wallball is your best friend. throw against a wall, both righty and lefty, a LOT.

Ha, I have the same weight problem. I’m like 5’6 and 110. Its better to be taller though.

Lacrosse is so much fun! :D

I played lacrosse for 5-6 years, but I quit to play tennis.

For lacrosse, just practice practice practice! against a wall, practice cradling when watching tv, anytime you can!

In addition to wall-ball, pick up a cheap $50 goal from Craigslist and practice shooting on the run. I find that shooting is one of the toughest skills to master in lacrosse.

Wrestling - Keep in shape. You’ll learn techniques in practice. If you can, find a wrestling camp.

Lacrosse; What they said.
