Wow, can't believe I have to register for spring classes in a month. What's an easy or entertaining WRIT 340 to take? I tried searching for a previous thread but couldn't find one. I'm good at writing, I just don't want to have to put too much extra time into this class or have it be sooooo boring. Thanks!

IMHO, Writ340 is kind of a random draw. The class really depends on the teacher, and you can't tell much about that since theres no real useful senate course guide as of now...

For example me and someone I know are both taking writ340 for arts and humanities. I have to read books and poems and we basically just write anything we want about the text (they're good texts) but someone else i know has to just write about a give stance on an issue or something...with no texts in the class...
it really just depends on the teacher.

Anyone care to recommend writ340 professors that they liked?

I’m bumping this up because I need help too.

I’m a horrible writer and it won’t get better anytime soon. I just want an easy decent grade and get the hell out… What’s the easiest class/professor?

I was just thinking about this today also…figuring that maybe it’s time to take 340 and, you know, graduate :)

the 340’s all vary depending on the subject - it is after all supposed to be targeted toward your major/career as opposed to a “GE”.

From what people tell me of the 340 for engineering, it’s things like: descriptive essay (describe something in detail), prepare a technical proposal to do something for a local community organization, scientific articles like you read in magazines, etc. But I haven’t taken 340 yet, so I don’t really know.

And of course, the schedule of classes doesn’t have any instructors listed for WRIT 340 classes for next fall. Super! Great for if you want to contact the instructor in advance to ask something… :(

just pick the best time slot and hope for the best.

I’m a business and EALC double major, so I can choose between writ 340 for the humanities or for business…

Does anyone know which one is easier? :(

can’t anybody take any writ 340 they want?
i might take 1 for business because I heard it is easier… hm

Anyone can take any section of writ 340. The only restriction is having completed writ 140 (or equivalent) and are not a freshman.

(the one exception I’ve noticed is that some 340 sections are D-clearance, so there’s some additional restriction. But almost all of them are not D-clearance)

good times.
jbusc have you taken any writ 340 yet? I’ve heard things from other people but… sigh.

I just need to get in and out. My writing won’t get better anytime soon so…its sorta pointless.

I haven’t taken it yet, it’s one of the only requirements I have left to graduate.

Hey so I have choice between writing 340 for visual arts and writing 340 for business. which one do you think will be easier? I think writing for 340 for visual and performing arts is going to be taught by professor feagin which I heard was pretty great…

However, I heard writing 340 for business is easy and all the sections are closed now oO I don’t know which I should go for because I sorta don’t want to give up my space in writing 340 for business oO help!
