Write essays for both the common application prompts and the school prompts???

Hey guys,

For example, i was looking at University of the Pacific website and I saw their own prompt about people hating you or something. But my question is if I am using the common app am I required to write a essay about that too in addition to my two essays that I am already writing for the common app. Thanks cause i am confused to the max.

thanks once again to everyone who read this post and especially to those who replied.

Yes. You complete the Common App basic AND the supplements for each school to which you are applying. A few schools don't have supplements.

thanks!!!!

Mr. Dean J do you know approximately when the supplements are released???

oh yeah one more thing so what is point of doing the common application if we have to write two additional essays along with the supplements adding the essay total to a grand total of three???? any reasonable explanation.

Each school submits their supplement to the Common App folks. The deadline to submit it was April 1st, but clearly, many schools didn't make that deadline. I'd call the schools directly if you know they require a supplement and it's not "live" yet.

Our application had three essays on it and we took one away when we went to Common App. So, it's the same amount of writing. The Common App is generally considered more convenient and manageable than having half a dozen different sites where applications need to be tracked.

I'm not a Mr. :)
