Writing 2 Requirement Question!?

Okay so my 1st pass time for winter quarter isn't until tomorrow (Monday) at 12pm and ALREADY all of the writing 2 classes are FULL! I got a 3 on AP English and was planning on taking Writing 2 this quarter so I can finish the writing requirement (writing 50) by the end of my freshman year. My first question is: when is the latest I have to fulfill the writing requirement? (Someone told me I had to finish it by the end of my 1st year but I'm not sure) Also: are there any classes I can take that will fulfill writing 2 so I can finish it by winter quarter? Thanks for any suggestions/answers!

Hey don’t freak!!!

the letters and science advising website states that you must fulfill your writing 2 requirement by the end of your second year (6 quarters), and it has to be writing 2, there is a replacement of writing 2, " Writing 2, or one of its variants, Writing 2E or 2LK. ". I must warn you, these classes are VERY hard to crash and get into (writing 2 and writing 50), but keep an eye on any spot opening soon, sign on randomly and check.

For writing 50, there are other classes that fulfill it “English 10, Writing 50, 50E, 50LK, or 109AA-ZZ.”

[Letters & Science Academic Advising :: General Education Program Requirements](http://www.advising.ltsc.ucsb.edu/graduation/ge.php)

Thanks for the response…I guess I’ll keep an eye on GOLD and see if one opens up, and I’m assuming it’s not worth it to try to crash a writing 2 class lol.

I’d say still attempt to because you really never know.

go to waitlist.ucsb.edu and keep checking to see when the waitlist for writing 2 will be up.

You shouldn’t take 50. It’s a waste of time. Take 109 series during your junior year. Some upper division English classes might require writ 2, but I don’t think you’re gonna take those soon.
