Hey guys!
So, I've been thinking a lot about my college essay, and the one I'd like to use. Lately, I feel like the essay I want to write is going to be really random. In fact, it will have nothing to do with college or a tragic event or even what I do as a scholar. Instead, its about something that happened to be that I find absolutely hilarious.
I don't want to reveal it on here (don't steal my ideas, you thieves :]) but, would this be a negative thing? I guarantee my essay would be original....not many people have experienced what I have....

It depends on what the event is, and more importantly, how you write about it. For example, I read an essay book where one guy (successfully) wrote about his shower.

My Common App essay wasn’t about college, extracurriculars, or academic interests. They want to hear your voice, to learn about you as a person and as a learner (which is much broader than as a student).
