writing about a book

im writing a supplement on a book i read and i was wondering how much of the essay should be dedicated to the book and how much to personal examples on how the book has influenced me as a person, and how personal the examples have to be.

Don’t give a book report. Most of it should be how it influenced you as a person and why it is relevant to you. If the book is related to your planned field of study, say so and why. Give details from the book to back your points up, but don’t summarize it or anything like that unless the entire plot of the book is vital for the essay (I doubt it is).

Good luck! Can you respond to my thread? It’s called Text Color Error, and shouldn’t take much of your time. Thanks.

well it’s really less of a summary of the plot than analysis of the major themes of the book, i think it’s necessary to explain what the points of the book are before you can talk about how it’s influenced you right?

bumppppppp
