So this is the prompt for Essay 2 on the UC app:

"Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?"

It lists an "experience" as something I can write about. So if I choose to write about an essay, do I still have to answer the second half of the prompt (which only talks about a quality or accomplishment)? I feel like my essay doesn't directly answer the prompt, but more like it's inspired by it. Would this be ok for UC Berkeley?

You have to answer the prompt, the essays are a big deal for berkeley.
Are you writing about an essay you wrote? I’m a little confused…
If it is about an essay you wrote, talk about why you’re proud of this essay, why was it an accomplishment you felt the need to share.

Oops! I meant experience, not essay. I wrote an essay about an experience I had.

Please start over. Your question is confusing.

Yes, you should somehow answer the second part.

Basically, explain how this “experience” has had an impact on you. Did it change you as a person? Your way to look at life or did change an opinion of yours about something?

Just the effect of that experience on you.

@itsakanksha Thank you! That’s all I wanted to know.

I think that writing about a challenge you were able to overcome is really impressive to admissions officers just as a POI
