Is it ok to write about one's CC experience or at least mention CC?

Thanks.

i wouldn’t lol

IMO i wouldn’t write about the internet…life lessons over the internet? I think the impact the internet on someone–especially a forum for college admissions may seem pretty bad. Hanging out on CC may give the impression that your ec’s are solely based on college-admissions and not out of your own interests

kind of related: i know someone who wanted to write about being an mod on this small forum online on his resume for his job. horrible idea lol

I would avoid it because as an applicant, you want to appear totally uncalculated, and just being on CC testifies to some level of calculation in terms of admissions.

well honestly it depends on what angle you take with it. For instance, I think something like…
I was a well-rounded student, taking part in all of these activities blah blah blah
and THEN
I discovered CC
For a while I was shocked at how obssessed some people were with stats
then one day I had a revelation about how I shouldn’t really stress about this stuff and just be myself.
Something along those lines would be okay. Not stellar, but okay.

It’s very dangerous, but like lyc0r1s said, it depends on the angle. For example, if you tackled it as where you found comfort in CC and realized you wanted to comfort other people in life after school, that could work. Just be sure not to seem overly-obsessive about college admissions. A healthy worry about college is normal and expected by adcoms, but obsessive=bad.
